Exploring natural and uncharrted ecosystems can yield novel biocontrol agent with potentiel benefits in both pharmaceuticals and agriculture. Micoorganisms, being economically sustainable and biologically valuable, are a valuable source for the production of biocontrol compounds. The objective of this study is to assess the bioactive capabilities, specifically the antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, of Streptomyces sp.T002, wich were isolated for the first time, from the Tifrit forest in western Algeria.

This study involved collecting 42 oil samples from Tifrit forest located in Western Algeria to evaluate their potential for producing bioactive substances. The T002 isolate, wich demonstrate the highest level of bioactivity, was identified using various techniques such as morphological, physiological, biochemical, and molecular characterization. The bioactivy of the metabolites produced by this isolate was then assessed through in vitro evaluation. Finally, the crude extract was analyzed using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS)

The potent antimicrobial activity and significant antioxidant scavenging proprieties of the ethyl acetate extract of T002were evident. The HPLC-MS analysis identified Blanchaquinone, a major compound in the extract, wich may be responsible for its antimicrobial and antioxidant proprieties. The taxonomic position of T002 was determinates to be similar to Stresptomyces galilaus through the analysis of its 16SrRNA sequence.

The strain T002 seems to hold great potential for producing new molecules that could be useful in the field of medicine.
