The goal of the English lessons is to understand the basic concepts of theatrical production and to master the vocabulary related to what is called descriptive language, as well as to know the history of theater and the historical vocabulary related to it that helps in reading the main theatrical movements, known as comparative language. Through the lessons, the student explores the techniques of theatrical direction and describes them in a theatrical presentation, as well as learns about literature and the directing styles applied in English theater. The aim of English classes as a secondary foreign language is to enable students to effectively use the specialized terminology relevant to their field of study.

يقدم هذا المحتوى، سلسلة من المحاضرات الأكاديمية لمقياس نظرية التأليف المسرحي، مدخلاً شاملاً للدراما والمسرح، مُركزًا على تحليل المكونات الأساسية للنص المسرحي. ويؤكد على أن النص المسرحي كيان فني متكامل يتكون من عناصر متضافرة، مشدداً على أهمية عنصر التأليف المسرحي وسمات المؤلف الذي يجب أن يمتلك الموهبة والثقافة والقدرة على تحقيق التوازن بين الشكل والمضمون. كما يستعرض المصدر بالتفصيل العناصر الأساسية للنص الدرامي وهي الفكرة (الثيمة)، والشخصية بأبعادها الثلاثة (الفسيولوجية والاجتماعية والنفسية)، والحبكة بأجزائها المختلفة (كالأزمة والذروة والحل)، بالإضافة إلى الحوار الدرامي والصراع كعمود فقري للبناء. وأخيراً، يختتم بتوضيح أهم الاتجاهات الدرامية العالمية المؤثرة مثل الإبسنّية، واتجاه برنارد شو (مسرح الفكرة)، وتشيكوف، والمسرح الملحمي لبريخت، ومسرح العبث.

يعد الديكور المسرحي من أهم العناصر المرئية على خشبة المسرح فهو المعادل التشكيلي للنص المسرحي المكتوب، فالكتل الموجودة على خشبة المسرح من أثاث أو مناظر وإكسسوارات وما الى ذلك من عناصر التشكيل البصري، هي ترجمة للنص في شكل تصميم مرئي لمفردات المنظر المسرحي الذي يخضع لحتمية درامية النص ورؤية المصمم والمخرج على السواء. وتصميم الديكور المسرحي يكمل باقي عناصر العرض المسرحي وفق أسس علمية ومنهجية ترتبط بمجال الفنون التشكيلية القائمة على العرض البصري باعتباره جزءا من هذا المجال.

يعتبر الديكور المسرحي من العناصر الأساسية في العرض المسرحي ، حيث يسهم في تجسيد الهدف العام لمحتوى العرض ، مهمته الأساسية إيجاد البيئة المناسبة للموضوع المسرحي الذي وضعه المؤلف ، و بالاستعانة برؤية المخرج و رؤية مهندس الديكور تجسد الخطوط الأولى للبيئة التي سيتحرك بداخلها الممثل ، و يحمل الديكور دلالات عديدة سنحاول التطرق إليها من خلال هذا المقياس

من المعلوم أن لكل مرحلة من مراحل التاريخ مكان مسرحي يناسبها ويستجيب لمتطلباتها الفنية والفكرية والجمالية، ويتماشى وخصائصها التقنية. ويمكن للمرحلة التاريخية أن تستغرق قرونا عِدّة لتبتدع مكانا مسرحيا ذا خصوصيات معينة تميِّزه عن غيره من الأمكنة، كما هي الحال بالنسبة للعلبة الإيطالية. كما تستطيع مرحلة تاريخية وجيزة أن تنجب أمكنة عديدة ومتنوعة، كما هو شأن الأمكنة المسرحية التي أفرزتها الثورات الفنية للقرن العشرين.
ومن هنا نستطيع أن ندرك أهمية التأريخ للمكان المسرحي، الذي يعتبر تأريخا للفن المسرحي بصفة عامة، ولجميع مكوناته الفنية والتقنية والجمالية. فقد وجّه المكان المسرحي بوصفه بناء هندسيا متميزا، الفرجة المسرحية لمدة قرون من الزمن، وهو ما حدا بماري كلود هوبر إلى التأكيد على أن دراسة دراماتورجيا أية مرحلة من مراحل التاريخ الفني للدراما، هي في حقيقتها دراسة للخصائص الهندسية والمعمارية للمكان المسرحي الذي أنجبها.
