Prerequisites and possible prerequisite test
Prerequisites
Students are expected to have a basic background in microbiology and general biology. Specifically, they should:
- Understand the fundamental differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells (cell structure, genetic material, organelles).
- Recall basic microbiological laboratory techniques (sterile technique, culture media, microscopy).
- Recognize common microbial groups (bacteria, archaea, fungi, viruses).
- Describe basic concepts of microbial growth and metabolism.
Possible prerequisite test
To ensure students have the necessary background, a short diagnostic test can be administered before the workshop. It could include sample questions on general microbiology.
