Prerequisites

Students are expected to have a basic background in microbiology and general biology. Specifically, they should:

  1. Understand the fundamental differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells (cell structure, genetic material, organelles).
  2. Recall basic microbiological laboratory techniques (sterile technique, culture media, microscopy).
  3. Recognize common microbial groups (bacteria, archaea, fungi, viruses).
  4. Describe basic concepts of microbial growth and metabolism.

Possible prerequisite test

To ensure students have the necessary background, a short diagnostic test can be administered before the workshop. It could include sample questions on general microbiology.
